21 – The Copper Burst Telecaster

Came in with The Blonde Tele after the Lakes session.

Like its brother, this was already a great playing guitar! It needed a lot of tough love to clean up some of the tough stains on the top of body.

So again, off come the strings and then the task of cleaning up the body, the neck and the hardware. As you can see from the videos it took a couple of different rounds to clean this guy up. One to take off the loose dirt and debris and then a couple of runs with the Dunlop Formula 65 to remove the marks.

With a clean body and fretboard its time to take the 1500 – 12000 grit paper to the frets and polish them up.

Like its brother this guy was not in standard tuning. Fender Bullet 10-52’s go on and its tuned to DADGAD.

I tried to capture this beauty of the finish of this guitar! But I just couldn’t get it right. The sparkle copper burst finish looks glorious up close and from a far it looks like a single colour burst. I want this guitar now…
